At Believers Temple we proclaim to be “one of the friendliest churches in the Midwest.”
Our ministry volunteers are aimed at making sure you receive a smile, handshake and helpful information as you come into the facility.
Bible Classes For All Ages
Although church schedules vary, on Sundays we incorporate a 45 minute Sunday School session. We have personalized classes for adults, teens and children.
Child Care
We currently do not have a nursery. However, a cry room is available on Sundays for parents or guardians to sit with their child and watch the service on a monitor while their child is calming down. Our Children’s Church Ministry accepts children 3 and over.
Children’s Worship
Bible-oriented activities are often provided for preschool and elementary-age children. At this level, young children are taught to sing, pray, memorize Scripture and learn important Bible truths. They are instructed and led in worship at their own levels.
Facilities
Our adult worship service occurs in our multi-purpose Family Life Center. Our Children and Youth Services are held in the Youth building which is adjacent to the Family Life Center. Our Parsonage House facilitates many other Christian Education classes on Sundays and throughout the week.
Music
Music is a major part of our worship, before, during and even after the service itself. Instruments may range from piano and organ to synthesizers, guitars, bass and drums. Whatever the accompaniment, inspired singing is the order of the day. Any given service may include traditional hymns, hand-clapping gospel songs, contemporary compositions or reverent worshipful choruses.
Worship Experience
The service may include quiet times of waiting in God’s presence, spiritually savoring the sacred atmosphere. Other times may be vocal with collective praise as worshippers spontaneously express love and adoration to God. In everything, a flow of worship should be evident and, despite the spontaneity and excitement, a certain properness and order. Worship styles will reflect the spectrum of personalities. Some are quiet and reserved; some shout with joy; others are simply tender and openly emotional during times of praise or preaching. No sincere worshipper should feel out of place at Believers Temple.
Prayer
Corporate prayer is anywhere from 1 hour to a half hour prior to all of our services. We also have a weekly schedule of corporate prayer times. All are welcome to attend.
Ministry to the Sick & Shut In
Our Membership Care Ministry takes the time to minister to the needs of those sick and shut in through hospital or home visitations and prayer. If you are asking for special prayer from the Pastor during a service, please contact Membership Care at (314) 388-0801 ext. 250.
Giving
During the service, tithes and offerings will be received. Giving is also a form of worship. Our members feel giving the tithe (the first tenth of income gross or net) and offerings declares that God comes first. It recognizes His blessing, expresses faith and seeks His guidance in every matter in life. The ministry of Believers Temple Word Fellowship is supported solely by free-will giving.
The Word
The climax of the service comes with the preaching of God’s Word, the Bible, and an invitation for hearers to respond. The messages are fervent, inspiring and practical. The Pastor may close with an invitation for those who need forgiveness in their lives to come forward and accept Christ as Savior. Those who feel a need to rededicate their lives to Christ or to pray about other concerns are also invited to come to the altar. Believers are urged to ask God for the baptism in the Holy Spirit to further empower them for Christian service. There may be an invitation for all to come to the Altar or there may be times in which those who have received Christ or seeking the Holy Ghost may be escorted to another room with our Evangelism Team for further counseling. Deep emotion and excitement may or may not be demonstrated at the altars, but everyone who calls on God in faith receives something.
If you’ve wondered what a Apostolic service is like, we invite you to observe and experience God’s joy and peace that defy description. And when you visit again, come expecting. Expect a move of God not only in the service, but also in your life. We think you’ll agree that the comfort, help and strength He gives are better experienced than explained.
